Resumen: El libro analiza los orígenes y el desarrollo de este culto, poniendo el foco en una región particular, Cusco, el escenario de las hazañas originales de Túpac Amaru. El autor muestra que el tupacamarismo impulsado por el gobierno militar tuvo el apoyo de una gran parte de la sociedad cusqueña, pero también encontró la resistencia de quienes apostaban por versiones alternativas del personaje o por un estilo diferente de culto. |
